One
of the Student Sections Committee's duties is to choose the host sites for
ANS Student Conferences. The conference host for next year is usually announced at the closing awards ceremony of the previous Student Conference.
The Student Conference Proposal Manual[PDF] is your guide to applying to host a student conference. The Student Conference Planners' Guide[PDF], intended for the conference winners, is very outdated and currently being revised. However, you may find it useful in preparing your proposal.
Proposals are due by March 1st each year for the following spring's conference. Email your proposal to ssc@ans.org. For the 2011 conference, the deadline has been EXTENDED to 11:59 pm Pacific time on March 15. NO FURTHER EXTENSIONS WILL BE GRANTED.
Judging is conducted using the Judges’ Evaluation Worksheet as a basis (available for download here).
This documents is used as a GUIDE ONLY, which means that the judging committee
will usually consider all factors listed on the worksheet but may alter the worksheet or choose a different host than the numerical winner on the worksheet if there are features of the proposals that the worksheet does not cover.
Good standing of student sections is also taken into account in judging.
Winning proposals from past years are included below; we highly
recommend that you review them before submitting.
You can direct questions at any time to ssc@ans.org.
